COMPETITION

General Rules:

WISCONSIN & ILLINOIS RESIDENTS ONLY.

An admission fee will be charged to all spectators (competitors and volunteers will enter free of charge). All proceeds will go to support the Committee. The Committee is comprised of local figure skating clubs that are volunteering their time to ensure the Badger State Games Figure Skating Competition is run successfully and at a high level. (Please see below for the members of the Committee)

Governing Body:
This is a USFSA-sanctioned event but membership in USFSA is not required. Registered members of the USFSA and ISI must be in good standing.

Format:
At Badger State Games discretion, any age bracket which has less than 5 competitors may be combined with another age bracket for competition. Where the number of participants in any subdivision of a level exceeds 15 skaters there will be a qualifying round. The top three skaters from the qualifying round will skate in the final round. Where there is no qualifying round required the initial round will be the final round. Winners of the qualifying rounds will qualify for the State Games of America. Except where specifically allowed, participants may not enter more than one level in the same division.

Except where rules herein specifically differ, USFS rules, as set forth in the 2010-2011 Official USFS Rulebook, will preside.

Solo Events

· Free Skate Short Program - Beginner, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior

· Free Skate Restricted - Basic, Limited Beginner, Beginner, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior

· Free Skate Unrestricted - Beginner, Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior

Solo Coed Events

· Moves In the Field - Pre-Preliminary, Preliminary, Pre-Juvenile, Juvenile, Intermediate, Novice, Junior, Senior

· Solo Artistic - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum

· Solo Interpretive - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum

· Solo Dance - Preliminary, Pre-Bronze, Bronze, Pre-silver, Silver, Open

· Solo Footwork - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum

Team Coed Events

· Synchronized Team - Basic Youth, Basic Teen, Bronze, Silver, Gold, Adult

· Entertainment-Restricted - Bronze, Silver, Gold, Platinum

Participants will use the age as of the deadline date January 5, 2011, except for Synchro teams, which will use their age as of July 1, 2011.

REGISTRATION GUIDELINES

Forms:
All solo athletes must complete the Individual Entry form and sign the accompanying waiver (parent/guardian must sign if athlete is under 18). Teams (Synchronized and Entertainment) must complete the Team Entry form and have all athletes fill out and sign the accompanying waiver. Athletes competing in both solo and team event must fill out both forms.
